Christopher Pottratz, Associate, advises businesses and individuals in corporate and commercial matters, including business formation, business transactions, real estate contracts, commercial litigation, employment issues, and estate and succession planning. He also advises public schools on student and teacher discipline and compliance and administrative issues.
Chris earned his undergraduate degree from Purdue University, then attended Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis. He graduated there and passed the bar exam in 2013. After moving back to Danville, Chris practiced criminal law in his hometown but found his real interest in corporate and commercial law.
When the opportunity to join Warrick & Boyn arose, Chris decided to leave his private practice in Danville and join the Elkhart firm. In the process of making his decision, Chris explored the city of Elkhart and liked what he discovered there. He describes the Elkhart Community as a good fit, where there are many places to go, great restaurants, and a warmth in the community not often found in larger cities.
Pottratz is a member of the Greater Elkhart Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Council, event committee member for Pillars of Elkhart, board member of Concord Dollars for Scholars and the Humane Society of Elkhart County, program committee member for Elkhart Noon Kiwanis, and volunteers as the head lacrosse coach at St. Thomas School and an instructor with Indiana Kids Election. He is a past member of the selection committee for Michiana 40 Under 40.
